New RRFB Crosswalk Systems

New RRFB Crosswalk Systems
Recently, pedestrian-actuated Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) signage was installed at four different locations in Marshall. They are located near the school crossings on East Southview Drive, South Saratoga Street, East Lyon Street, and East College Drive.

The purpose of the RRFBs is to draw more attention to a pedestrian as they cross the street. Research suggests that RRFBs can increase motorist yielding rates and reduce pedestrian crashes.

This is a short demonstration video on how to properly navigate these new crossings for both pedestrians and drivers.
