It is unlawful to discharge sump pumps, foundation drains or any other ground water or surface water into the City of Marshall sanitary sewer during the period of April 1st to October 31st.
During the period of November 1st to March 31st, discharge of storm water to the sanitary sewer may be done by an annual permit only. To obtain an Annual Permit, please contact the Wastewater Office at the phone number below.
These violations are considered a misdemeanor and may result in fines and the City mandating you to hire a plumber to correct the problem.
This water does not need to be treated and the excess water may overwhelm the sanitary sewer collection system or exceed maximum flow conditions at the Wastewater Treatment Facility.
Storm water should be discharged to your yard or to the street curbs.
