City of Marshall Elected Officials Reduce Salaries

The salaries of the Mayor and City Councilmembers of the City of Marshall will be reduced by ten percent.  The reduction was proposed by Mayor Bob Byrnes and passed unanimously at the April 14, 2020 Marshall City Council meeting.

 

“The current State of Emergency due to Pandemic disease will have long term impact on our local economy, so it is prudent for the City Council reduce their compensation prior to making any other reductions” stated Mayor Byrnes.

 

Effective May 12, 2020, the monthly salary of the Mayor will be $737.18, and the Council member monthly compensation will be $466.28 until December 31, 2020.
