Closure of N. 3rd St. 4/24
CLOSURE OF NORTH 3RD STREET BEGINNING MONDAY, APRIL 24th
R and G Construction Co. is anticipated to begin work on N 3rd Street between W Main Street and W Redwood Street on Monday, April 24, 2023.
- N 3rd Steet will be closed to all vehicular access from W Main Street to W Redwood Street.
- W Lyon Street will remain open during this time, though the intersection of W Lyon Street and N 3rd Street will be closed.
- The first week will include removal of the roadway pavement (no sidewalk removal).
- Pedestrian access to N 3rd Street will be maintained to the maximum extent practicable while utility work is occurring in this area.
- Downtown patrons may park in all City-owned parking lots (Addison, Baldwin, Rose) and on W Lyon Street.
- Sidewalks and alleys should be generally passable for customers to access businesses on N 3rd Street. The sidewalks will remain open to the maximum extent practicable while utility work is occurring.
- Access to the Post Office blue drop boxes must come from N 4th Street through the alley. Post Office drop box users can proceed down the alley to E College Drive to exit.
This first phase of construction may last into July. We ask for patience during the replacement of necessary city utilities and installation of a new concrete street and sidewalk surface in this area.
