Congratulations to the latest You Rock Award recipient, Community Education Coordinator Amanda Beckler!
As a result of Amanda’s hard work and dedication, recently the City of Marshall received an award for achieving a Step 4 and Step 5 city level in the Minnesota GreenStep program. Marshall is one of 147 participating cities and tribal nations in the 12-year-old challenge, assistance, and recognition program. Actions taken within the program focus on cost savings, energy use reduction, resource conservation, climate change, and the encouragement of civic innovation. Amanda was also instrumental in obtaining a $20,000 Art Legacy Project grant from Southwest MN Arts Council that enable a mosaic art sculpture that will display a large letter M to reflect the city’s new branding; standing around 10 feet tall and 14 feet wide, this sculpture will incorporate art pieces donated by the community. Congratulations Amanda for a job well done!
