City Staff Transition Back to City Hall

City Staff Transition Back to City Hall

The City Hall renovation project that started in late February 2020 is near completion. While not all construction items have been completed, the key features of the building will allow staff and the public to function efficiently from the new facility starting next week.

City staff since January 2020 have been temporarily located at SMSU as the space offered great access and varied office and meeting space to meet the necessities of city work.

This week, City of Marshall staff will begin moving back to the newly constructed City Hall on 344 West Main Street with plans to be fully operational to the public at the new building on Tuesday, June 29th. In addition, for improved security, the alley/back entrance door will now be employee only access, visitors will only be allowed access through the main entrance located off of Main Street.

Knowing that there is great interest from the public to see the building, the city is planning a Ribbon Cutting/Open House on Thursday, July 15th from 4-7 p.m. that will dedicate the building for use, but also be an opportunity for the public to tour the new building.

Due to the transition of moving back, City staff may have limited availability to fully assist with transactions on Monday, June 28th and therefore is encouraging residents to call 507-537-6760 to avoid delays with their requests and needs.
